Nana Patekar – My Idol

Yesterday I was watching the movie “ Aprahan” on Zee, and was hooked on it, loved watching Ajay Devgan initially,the fight between the police officer and the Goonda,and later on came Nana Patekar.I am biased to him, as I just love him and his dialogues delivery.

I have been following his career right from the days of  His first movie “ Ankush” with N Chandra, when he came on the movie scene with a Bang.And since then he has sometimes disappeared in between to come back once again blazing with all his guns.

I had read a very frank interview of his around maybe 10 or 15 years back.He said he charges 50 lakhs per movie, all in white, and all in advance.He immediately makes 3 cheques of 15 lakhs each, for his 3 favourite charities.

He says 5 lakhs is more than enough for him to live on.He still drinks the same Rum, and smokes the same brand of cigarettes, andlives in the same chawl or building.And whenever a guest comes over, he gives him Rum, or the whiskey that is available.I admire him for this.Just imagine giving away 90% of yr income,what can I say to that.This is one quality that endeared him to me.

And the best part is, he looks so ordinary, just like me, that sometimes I feel I too can become a Hero.If Nana Can, so can I !He dosnt shave, wears a white shirt, and normal trousers, in fact he looks like a pucca Goonda, but the public still loves him.His accent is Maharashtrian,but he is not conscious of it.He delivers with his heart.

The best I liked was his Tiranga, where he was featured with another eccentric actor,Raj Kumar, and it was a fine movie,my all time favourite.Loud, but good.AgniSakshi, with Monisha Koirala, where he is the obessed husband, was too good.I did not see the original English movie “ Sleeping with the Enemy” from where it is copied or inspired,But Nana was just too good.

And he loves to tall in love with fair actresses.First was Ayesha Jhulka, fair looking and pretty.After a few years with her, he fell in love with Manisha Koirala(that is if I am not mistaken).God knows what those females see in him.

And now the papers say an actress called Tanushree Dutta has filed a case against Nana, as he wanted her to do a close dance scene with her,which she refused, when his supporters danced on her car and damaged it.And she has been replaced by my favourite Rakhee Sawant.What an explosive combo.Lets see if Nana can charm this Rakhee of mine, or will she be smart enough to tie him a Rakhee and vamoose.

She is one smart female, and will see which side the bread is buttered.If the butter is Nana’s side,and she thinks she will get roles bcs of him, then u may hear about their love affair very soon.

The life of a Blog

I always wonder when the hits and comments dry up on a blog.Mine finish in a days time, max 24 hours. And I am satisfied with a 100 hits and 10 comments, that too If I am lucky that is.

And I see some bloggers get 500 hits and more, like D Sampath, and it must take him a week to reply to all the comments.

And I have so many blogs lined up for release,all there on my Desktop, that I am impatient to post them.So I cant wait to squeeze more juice out of the blog.

And on hindsight when I think about the quality of my blogs,I know they are not any great shakes,so I tell myself, kamal don’t get greedy, 100 people suffered reading, and 10 poor souls were polite enough to comment,now that’s enough.

So let others be busy posting replies like Sampathbhai, while let me be busy posting blogs, and emptying my Desktop space.
